This system will insure that
responders at the local, state, and federal level will operate under the same procedures. The u.S.
Department of Homeland Security requires the adoption of NIMS at the local level as a condition
for Federal preparedness assistance beginning in fiscal year 2005.

Cass Fargo Emergency Management is taking steps for the implementation ofNIMS in FY 2005
through the provision ofNIMS training to all emergency responders in Cass County.

The recommended fust step is the adoption of a resolution by the Board of County
Commissioners.

~

Dave Rogness
Emergency Management Coordinator

Recommended Motion: I move that the Board of County Commissioners approve, establish and
designate, through the attached resolution, the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
as the standard for incident management within Cass County.
