<br />RECEIVED <br />iJAN ~ 3 2005 <br /> <br />CASS COIJNTY CQtAMISSION <br />TO: <br /> <br />MEMO <br /> <br />Cass County Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Terry Schmaltz, IT Manager <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />Dec 30, 2004 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Qwest Contract Renewal <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> <br />Dear Commissioners, <br /> <br />Cass County signed a 3-year contract for local Qwest service in March 2004. <br />At the time Qwest offered two services, one of which we could not take advantage of <br />since it required an upgrade to our phone switch in the Courthouse. <br /> <br />With the planned upgrades scheduled for 2005, we area ble to take advantage <br />of additional services from Qwest and at the same time able to reduce our monthly <br />reoccurring telecommunications costs from $2,277.24 to $1,748.27 a monthly <br />savings of $528.97 per month. <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Move to authorize the chair to sign a 36-month local telephone service contract with <br />Qwest Corporation. <br /> <br />~".. <br />~. <br />k--- ~. <br />Terry Schmaltz <br />Cass County IT Manager <br />
