Commission Minutes—September 15, 2014 4371 <br /> 7. VOUCHERS, Approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Bennett moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve Voucher No. <br /> 280,711 through Voucher No. 281,037. On roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 8. NORTH DAKOTA HIGHWAY HALL OF HONOR; MEETING UPDATES; FLOOD <br /> DIVERSION UPDATE; LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON, Committee reports <br /> Keith Berndt, County Administrator, will travel to Bismarck on Wednesday, September 17th <br /> to attend a ceremony of the North Dakota Highway Hall of Honor. Mark Bittner, Fargo City <br /> Director of Engineering, will be inducted into the Hall of Honor. <br /> Mr. Berndt will attend a budget session with the North Dakota Legislative Council in <br /> Bismarck on September 24th. A presentation will be given on the FM diversion project. <br /> Mr. Vanyo attended informational meetings hosted by Governor Mark Dayton in <br /> Breckenridge and Moorhead two weeks ago. One of the topics discussed was the FM <br /> diversion project. He said three issues that will be discussed at the October 9th Flood <br /> Diversion Board of Authority meeting are limiting work on the Oxbow-Hickson-Bakke levee <br /> to 100-year protection until completion of the Minnesota Environmental Impact Statement <br /> (EIS); delaying construction on the diversion channel until completion of the Minnesota EIS; <br /> and adding another board member to represent a broader geographic area, including <br /> upstream Minnesota interests. <br /> Mrs. Scherling attended the Red River Basin Commission meeting last week and said the <br /> board heard several presentations, including one from Mr. Vanyo regarding the FM <br /> diversion project. <br /> Mr. Pawluk said in the past the county has hosted meetings with local legislators before the <br /> upcoming legislative session. He suggested a legislative luncheon be held on Monday, <br /> November 17th at 11:30 AM. He asked commissioners to prepare discussion topics in <br /> advance in order to develop an effective agenda. <br /> 9.
