Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services Midwest Testing <br /> Proposed CR14 Slide Area(CH 1502) LABORATORY!NC <br /> August 22,2014,W Cass County, North Dakota A1rerracon COMPANY <br /> Terracon Proposal No. PM11403321 <br /> Laboratory Testing— Representative soil samples will be tested In our laboratories to determine <br /> pertinent engineering characteristics. In addition to visual classification, we foresee the testing <br /> program would include determining moisture content, dry density, Atterberg limits and strength <br /> characteristics by various methods, including unconfined compression, triaxial compression and <br /> direct shear, as appropriate for the conditions encountered. <br /> Engineerino Analysis and Report — The results of our field and laboratory programs will be <br /> evaluated by a professional geotechnical engineer, licensed in the State of North Dakota. The <br /> engineer will analyze the subsurface conditions and then prepare a geotechnical engineering <br /> report that will discuss the various aspects of the investigation and provide options for repair or <br /> mitigation of the slide. <br /> Schedule - We anticipate starting the field work within about one to two weeks of receiving <br /> written notice to proceed. We estimate four to six weeks will be required, after field work has <br /> commenced for a written report to be completed. <br /> C. COMPENSATION <br /> We estimate the total cost of the engineering services outlined above will range from <br /> $16,000.00 to $17,500.00, with the actual cost depending on the soil conditions encountered <br /> and the complexity of the analysis. This does not include the cost for surveying. <br /> D. AUTHORIZATION <br /> This proposal may be accepted by executing the attached Task Order and returning one copy, <br /> along with this proposal to Midwest Testing/Terracon. This proposal is valid only if authorized <br /> within sixty days from the listed proposal date. <br /> We appreciate the opportunity to provide this proposal.
