Laney, Sheriff <br /> July 7, 2014 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> Darrell Vanyo, Portfolio Commissioner IL 7 2014 <br /> Cass County Commission - <br /> Cass County Courthouse <br /> Fargo, ND 58103 CASS COUNTY COMMISSION <br /> Re: Joint Powers Agreement, with Minnesota Department of Corrections <br /> Chairman Ken Pawluk, <br /> This agreement is between the State of Minnesota, acting through its commissioner of corrections, adult <br /> facilities division St. Paul, MN and the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Fargo, ND. <br /> The Cass County Sheriff's Office will provide security coverage for DOC offenders while in-patient status <br /> at one of the hospitals in Fargo, North Dakota. <br /> The State of Minnesota will pay for security coverage for DOC offenders that require in-patient care at a <br /> Fargo, North Dakota hospital. Cass County will be paid $47.00 per hour, per deputy for this coverage. <br /> The total obligation of the State of Minnesota under this agreement will not exceed $25,000.00. <br /> A copy of the agreement has been provided to our States Attorney for his review. <br /> Suggested Motion: <br /> Move to authorize the chairman to sign the Joint Powers Agreement for FY15-FY16 for security coverage <br /> by the Cass County Sheriff's Office for Minnesota Department of Corrections offenders on warrant status <br /> that require in-patient care at a Fargo, North Dakota hospital. <br /> Respectf- <br /> Michele D.
