8. ATM machines for Courthouse/Highway Dept

An ATM machine would be a service to public as well as to Director of our own employees. We currently have one at the Cass County Jail and would like to Equalization add one in the Courthouse and possibly the Highway Department. We did not obtain proposals when we put in the ATM in the County Jail as it was included as part of the Frank Klein bail bond system. 701-241-5616 This time, we did ask for proposals from local banks and private companies that provide ATM's. The banks responded that they do not provide ATM's but we did receive proposals from two other companies. In both cases, the cost to the county is to provide space, electricity, and internet access—all things we may provide at very little cost. The vendor provides the equipment, cash for the ATM, and all associated services. The person using the ATM is charged $2.00 per transaction. A location has not been determined in the Courthouse. We have looked at the lobby area next to the Grasslands Conference Room, but a final location would be chosen after consulting with department heads. Card Care Systems currently provides the ATM in the County Jail, and I recommend the county expands the service to the Courthouse and Highway Department.
