The van was ordered in such a way to reuse <br /> an inmate cell insert used to separate male and female inmates for transport. <br /> Because of sound and weather considerations, the van was ordered with an insulation package. Upon <br /> receiving the van it had minimal insulation. The 2014 van is also two feet longer that the van we <br /> currently use. The van will not fit into most other sally ports in North Dakota.We would also need have <br /> rear heat and air conditioning added as it was not included on the specification. The Ford Motor <br /> Company nor any other company manufactures a van that will fits our needs. Therefore,we <br /> approached our local Ford distributor to inquire about a 2015 van to be manufactured that will meet our <br /> needs. We can get a 2015 Ford van in 6-12 weeks. A quotation is provided in the attached document <br /> for your convenience. <br /> The total on the attached quotation reflects a balance due of$7951.00 which is within our 2014 budget. <br /> Suggested Motion: <br /> Move to authorize the chairman to sign the request by the Cass County Sheriff's Office to sell the 2014 <br /> Ford 350 Cargo Van to Luther Ford for the purchase price of$22,000.00 and authorize the purchase of a <br /> 2015 Transit prison•r transport van from Luther Ford. <br /> R pectfu <br /> Michele D.
