Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services Midwest Testing
Proposed CR 31 Slide Area—CH 1501 LABORATORY, /NC.
May 30, 2014 ■Cass County, North Dakota ATerfaCanCOMPANY
MTUTerracon Proposal No. PM1140208
Field Program — We propose to perform four cone penetrometer tests at the site. These
soundings would be taken to depths ranging from 50 to 100 feet below existing grades. Three of
these tests would be taken on the river bank, with one taken west of the road, assuming we would
have access to that area.
Engineering Analysis and Report — The results of the CPT soundings, along with survey data,
would be evaluated by professional geotechnical engineers and scientists, under the direction of
a professional geotechnical engineer licensed in the State of North Dakota. The results of this
evaluation would be verbally discussed with you and included in a written report, describing the
general findings and a road map for a Phase 2 investigation.
Schedule — At this time, we understand an all-terrain CPT rig could be mobilized to the site on
our about the end of June. We estimate three to four weeks would be required, after that time,
for data reduction and evaluation.
C. COMPENSATION
We estimate the total cost for the CPT Phase of the engineering services for this project, as
outlined above, will range from $15,000 to $17,000, depending upon the soil conditions
encountered and the time required for evaluation of the data, consultation and reporting.
D.
