Commission Minutes—June 16, 2014 4313 <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Scherling moved and Mr. Vanyo seconded to approve the release of <br /> funds to the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development <br /> Corporation for the period of June 30, 2014, to December 31, 2014. On <br /> roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> 12. FLOOD CONTROL, State Water Commission payment to City of Fargo approved <br /> During the last three legislative sessions, the state legislature approved a total of $175 <br /> million to be spent on flood control costs. This is the 28th request from the City of Fargo. <br /> Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, said the reimbursement claim in the amount of <br /> $384,099 is the local match on demolition and cleanup costs for home buyouts in the <br /> Harwood Groves and River Drive neighborhoods as well as land costs for new acquisitions <br /> along 39th Avenue South. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Vanyo moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to authorize the chairman <br /> to sign the approval letter for the State Water Commission to distribute <br /> funds in the amount of $384,099 to the City of Fargo pursuant to the <br /> terms and conditions of Senate Bill 2020. On roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 13. VOUCHERS, Approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Scherling moved and Mr. Peterson seconded to approve Voucher <br /> No. 278,734 through Voucher No. 279,040. On roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> 14. SPACE ANALYSIS & FEASIBILITY STUDY; LEGISLATIVE WATER OVERVIEW <br /> COMMITTEE; SECURITY STATION UPGRADES; FLOOD DIVERSION UPDATE; RED <br /> RIVER BASIN SEMINAR; ELECTION UPDATE, Committee reports <br /> Keith Berndt, County Administrator, said Consultant Dennis Kimme will be in town July 1-3 <br /> to meet with staff regarding the space analysis and feasibility study. <br /> Mr. Berndt and Commissioner Vanyo will attend meetings with the Legislative Water Topics <br /> Overview Committee on June 23ra and June 24th in Bismarck. Mr. Vanyo will provide a <br /> presentation on the diversion project. <br /> Mr. Berndt said security station upgrades began last week at the Annex. The upgrades at <br /> the Courthouse will be done after work is completed at the Annex. <br /> Mr. Vanyo said a lawsuit was filed today in Wilkin County by the Richland-Wilkin Joint <br /> Powers Authority seeking an injunction to stop construction on the Oxbow/Hickson/Bakke <br /> ring levee. <br /> Mrs. Scherling attended a two-day seminar hosted by the Red River Basin Commission last <br /> week. She said attendees toured a diversion and staging area in the Roseau, Minnesota <br /> area. <br />
