2014 Cass County Board of Equalization <br /> LeeVon Sauvageau <br /> LeeVon Sauvageau, at 8520 University Drive S, Stanley Twp, is asking that her valuation <br /> be reviewed. Ms. Sauvageau was not able to appear at the Stanley Twp board of <br /> equalization. <br /> Ms. Sauvageau recently built a 1,900 sq. ft. rambler with an attached garage and bonus <br /> room above the garage. For 2014, the proposed assessment is agricultural land-$18,300, <br /> Residential lot-$70,000, Residential Structures $255,500 for a total valuation of <br /> $343,800. <br /> The appraisal for mortgage purposes valued the property at $330,000. <br /> I visited the property and measured the structure. The size indicated on the appraisal and <br /> property card appear correct. The size appears incorrect on the builder's sketch. Ms. <br /> Sauvegeau felt that the lot value may be high compared lots in a subdivision south of the <br /> subject. It appears that those river lots have experienced bank slide problems. <br /> If there are additional issues, Ms. Sauvageau is advised to file for abatement of taxes. <br /> The Stanley Township Board would then review the matter and the Cass County Board <br /> would then make a determination. <br /> Suggested Motion: "I move that the LeeVon Sauvageau assessment be upheld, as <br /> equalized by the Stanley Township Board of Equalization." <br />
