April 28, 2014
Cass County Social Services is requesting permission to tie blue ribbons around the trees on the West
and East side of 10th Street (before the skywalk) on May 6, 2014. This is a Red River Valley Foster Adopt
Coalition event, involving staff from our agency as well as PATH of ND and Adults Adopting Special Kids.
This event is used to raise awareness of the current and ongoing needs of children/youth in foster care
and to acknowledge the dedicated foster families and other caring individuals and organizations who are
already supporting these young people.
There will be approximately 235 blue ribbons tied on the trees to signify each child placed in a foster
care setting in Cass CSS. The ribbons will stay up from May 6 to May 30. There will be a small ground
sign near the Annex building to explain the ribbons. We hope to receive posters from the National
Foster Month Coalition to put up at the Annex Building on 3rd floor on the bulletin board and at the
Court House.
RECEIVED
APR 2 3 2014
CASS COUNTY COMMISSION
