RECEIVED <br /> 03-31-14 MAR '... 2014' <br /> FROM: Chip Ammerman, Cass County Social Service Director <br /> RE: 2014 Caring Community Award LASS COUNTY COMMISSION <br /> On 03-20-14, Cass County Social Services Family Service Unit received the Caring Community Award <br /> from the Prevent Child Abuse of North Dakota organization. This award is granted to 5 state wide <br /> organizations that have "gone above and beyond in the prevention of child abuse and neglect" for their <br /> community. Senator Tim Mathern nominated our Family Service Unit. Senator Mathern specifically <br /> identified our strength based Signs of Safety approach in working with families and utilizing innovative <br /> resources such as Family Team Decision Making, Family Group Decision Making, the Crisis Intervention <br /> Teams, In-home Services and the Intake Unit. The award is recognizing the Family Service Unit's <br /> proactive work to ensure safety for children and engage families in resolving risks. Governor Dalrymple <br /> has signed the 2014 Proclamation declaring April as "Child Abuse Prevention Month" and has recognized <br /> this award. <br />
