Authorize the county auditor to offer to cities any unsold property from the annual <br /> tax sale list for $1.00 per property, with the stipulation that the county will cancel <br /> all taxes and the city will assume collection responsibilities for all certified specials <br /> against the property. <br /> f. Authorize the chairman and county auditor to sign three county deeds for tax- <br /> forfeited properties sold at the annual sale held November 19, 2013. <br /> g. Authorize the Cass County Sheriff's Office to purchase eight (8) patrol vehicles <br /> and one (1) prisoner transport van at a cost of $239,010.30 from the Cass County <br /> Sheriff's Office 2014 budget. <br /> h. Authorize the chairman to sign the sales order in the amount of $21,420 with <br /> Wheeler Lumber, LLC to purchase materials for a bridge project located in <br /> Section 19/30 of Normanna Township. <br /> i. Contract approval—flood lot lease for a property in Harwood Township. <br /> 7. TAX REASSESSMENT FOR REED TOWNSHIP, Contract approved with Vanguard <br /> Appraisals <br /> Frank Klein, Director of Tax Equalization, was present. He met last month with Reed <br /> Township board officials regarding a reappraisal of all properties, and the township <br /> approved the work to be performed next year for 2015 assessments. He recommends the <br /> county contract with Vanguard Appraisals, Inc., the same company that conducted a <br /> reassessment in the City of Kindred a few years ago. The total cost will range from $62,000 <br /> to $65,000 with expenses to be split 50/50 between Cass County and Reed Township with <br /> the township share being paid over a five-year period. <br /> Mrs. Scherling asked about the last time a reassessment of Reed Township was done. Mr. <br /> Klein said it was about 30 years ago when one was completed. She asked if the <br /> information will be in electronic form, and Mr. Klein said the data will be stored electronically <br /> with digital photos and will be available on the county's website. <br /> Mr. Peterson requested the commission be provided with before and after property values in <br /> order to review any changes. Mr. Klein did not see any issues with obtaining that <br /> information through the reassessment process. <br />
