<br />RELATIONSHIP OF PROJECT'S RECOMMENDATION TO PLAN GOALS AND FHWA <br />PLANNING FACTORS <br /> <br />Chapter 5 of the Plan documents the Plan's Goals and Objectives, as approved by the Metro <br />COG Policy Board in December 2002. These goals are listed below: <br /> <br />IA. <br />IlA. <br />m A. <br />IV A, <br />VA. <br /> <br />Provide Transportation Options and Choices <br />Provide an Adequate Roadway System <br />Provide a Safe Transportation System <br />Preserve the Existing Transportation System <br />Provide Adequate Roadways for Freight Movement and Better Connectivity to <br />Intermodal Facilities <br />Maintain Interjurisdictiona1 Transportation Planning Process <br />Secure Adequate Project Funding <br /> <br />VIA, <br />VII A. <br /> <br />Figure 11 below reflects the relationship between projects programmed by the Plan and the <br />Plan's goal statement. The seven broad goals adopted by the transportation funding <br />legislation (TEA-21) are listed below: <br /> <br />I, Economic Vitality <br />2. Safety and Security <br />3. Accessibility and Mobility <br />4. Operational Efficiency <br /> <br />5. Intermodal Connectivity <br />6.
